Knights of Peter Claver Inc.: Northern States District

Here is an important update about the Junior Conference: Timeline of Events: May 8th - Deadline for Registration of Junior Conference May 15th - Deadline for Credentials May 31th - Deadline for other important documents Theme: Ignite, Invite the Holy Spirit Through Claverism Grand Knights and Grand Ladies, please check your email (within the last three weeks) for other documents related to the Junior Conference.

During the Joint Session on Saturday, Council and Court 90 thanked the Northern States District for their assistance during the crisis in Flint, MI. Clavers will continue to support Clavers. The Ladies Division asked for a prayer of healing before the joint session began. After the joint session, the membership continued to visit the vendors, attend the silent auctions, and visit the various charity fundraisers.  Then, we went to the President's Luncheon. This was the menu. The proceeds went to support the Juniors Division.

The Joint Raffle Committee and Ladies Credentials Committee are hard at work preparing their reports on the first day of conference. Several candidates for the Knights and Ladies ran and won for office (on the second day of conference)!   We also had a Memorial Service for Knights and Ladies that passed on since the last conference. The Supreme Lady and Deputy Supreme Knight spoke at the joint session of Northern States District Conference.

Thursday opened up with a buffet breakfast, fruits, eggs, sausage, pastries and more. Claver family eating together. The Hospitality Table has a lot of information to share with the community. Court and Council 227 shares their service project ... community meals for those in need. This year's theme is very important (it's an election year)! The Northern States District Board has just wrapped up their evening meeting to kick off the conference for Friday afternoon. Clavers from all over the district decided to attend the Card and Karaoke Party. Clavers played Bid Whist, Dominoes, Spades, and sung some old school songs! The Grand Knight of 227 -the hosting council- is also a local DJ. He participated with the karaoke with songs and dancing too.

Clavers showed up on Wednesday to pack conference bags for over 350+ attendees to the Northern States District Conference. Members of Court and Council 227 and the NSD Board Members are preparing registration, packing the conference bags, preparing polo shirts, and preparing supplies for the Emerging Leaders charity event on Wednesday. After a long day of traveling and work, some of us went to Cheesecake Factory and dined in. We ended early to prepare for tomorrow's events. Below is some interesting artwork from the Factory.

Last month, the Michigan Central Committee members traveled to Flint, MI to Christ the King Catholic Church Council and Court 90 to deliver water and basic supplies. It was a caravan of four vehicles. Juniors of Council 90 and other MCC members offloaded water for Unit 90 families.
